Chapel of Saint Adalbert the Martyr in Sopot

monuments

The Neogothic chapel of Saint Adalbert is located in the center of Sopot, next to the Church of Saint George, built by the Evangelical community between 1899 and 1901. It was funded in 1909 by Herman Burrucker, the chairman of the church construction committee. Initially, it housed a well with a fountain and a small pool. In the late 1930s, a statue of Saint Adalbert holding an oar in his right hand was placed inside. On one of the chapel's pillars, there is a bas-relief depicting one of the oldest coats of arms of Sopot.
