Built in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, it is the oldest of the three surviving late Gothic water gates. This is evidenced not only architectural form, also located above the entrance of the Motławy Herb Gdansk dating from the Teutonic Knights, two crosses without a crown. Since the town was placed over the entrance of Gdansk Pomerania Dukes coat, a symbol of lila. Construction on a rectangular, vertical blinds cut by two ostrołukami completed, transfers completed with crenelage crow-stepped gable, from the Motławy had two octagonal towers, survived only north.
